Including a legacy to RSPCA Darwin in your will means continuing the great work that you have supported during your lifetime.
It is always advisable to instruct a solicitor to make sure that your Will is properly drawn up, valid, enforceable and that your wishes will be carried out exactly as you intended.
If you already have a Will, you can still leave a gift to RSPCA Darwin by adding a codicil to it.
Types of gift
If you decide to include RSPCA Darwin in your Will you will need to decide which of the following types of gift you wish to make:
Residual gift : We are very grateful for all the legacies we receive, however the most valuable kind of gift to RSPCA Darwin is the gift of all or a percentage of the net value of your estate (ie. after all debts, liabilities and other specific and pecuniary legacies have been paid). A residual gift ensures that your gift to RSPCA Darwin is 'inflation proof' as you do not need to put a precise value on your gift.
Pecuniary gift: The gift of a specified sum of money.
Specific gift: The gift of a specific item, for example, a property or shares.
Confidentiality
Your support is vital to the work we do and we thank you for it. We also respect your privacy and assure you that RSPCA Darwin will not under any circumstances share your legacy information with any other organisations and all correspondence will be dealt with in strictest confidence.
Please download the RSPCA Darwin Bequest Brochure here or email admin@rspcadarwin.org.au and request one to be mailed to you.
