As Christmas and New Year approach so does the threat of cyclones. We would like to up date our Foster Register for Cyclones so if the need arrives we can call on people to help look after the animals here. Over the holiday season we are always full and we need to ensure that we have enough people available so all dogs and cats can be safely removed from the shelter should the need arise.  As a Cyclone Foster you would be required to collect an animal/s when a warning is given. You must ensure that the animal/s is kept in a safe and secure location with you. Generally animals can be returned to the shelter within a few days, once the shelter is safe and the cyclone has passed.

If you can help take 1 or 2 animals into your care in the event of a cyclone we’d love to hear from you. Please call the shelter or email admin@rspcadarwin.org.au to register.

For more information about cyclones and the latest weather warnings for your area go to http://www.bom.gov.au/

Office Renovations

In 2010 the RSPCA Darwin were awarded a grant to conduct a much needed Office/Reception Upgrade at our Boulter Road shelter and in November  the renovations were finished and the results were an amazing and refreshing transformation.
Thank you so much to all  those involved for their efforts and services.
A big thank you to Sign City for the donation of our fantastic new signs and the CDU students for helping out with the paving.

RSPCA Darwin, President Amanda Stoker accepts a cheque from Hash House Harriers Representative, Greg Sanderson.
On Monday 10th August, the Darwin Hash House Harriers jogged through Darwin city’s streets in their finest blond wigs, white dresses and disastrous make-up for their annual charity run, dubbed ‘The Pure Blonde Run’.

This year over 40 runners, including police officers, engineers, tradies and business people, frocked up for the event and raised, a whopping $1956.90 for the RSPCA Darwin.

Greg Sanderson, representative of the Hash House Harriers, presented a cheque to RSPCA Darwin President, Amanda Stoker and said “they knew the RSPCA needed assistance & were really pleased with the amount of money raised”.

The money raised will be used to help care for surrendered, neglected & abandoned animals at the Darwin RSPCA Shelter.
