Cat Show March 22nd 2009 - Report by Kay Goon

- News
The first Cat Show for the year was held on Sunday 22 March. The shows are organised by the Cat Association of the NT. Since November 2007, they have invited both the RSPCA and Paws to enter our shelter cats. The main aim of this is to hopefully find homes for them and this has been successful in the past.
We entered 8 of our special cats and they were judged by 2 professional judges, one from Queensland and the other from Alice Springs. The cats all behaved very well and received glowing comments from the judges. First prize from both judges in the male domestic cat section went to Cuddles (pictured below), our sweet ginger boy. His name certainly suits his personality. Eva won first prize from one judge in the female domestic cat section and our sweet teenager, Pepper Ann won first prize in the female section. All our 8 cats went back to the shelter with ribbons and certificates which will be displayed on their pens.
The cats want to say a big thank you to those special volunteers who helped on the day, Lindsay, Caroline, Tamika, Heather, Natalie, Caitlin and Naomi.
It was also good for the cats to see RSPCA supporters there who came to see our cats at their best.
